Overview
Bipolar disorder is a psychosis in which the patient alternates between depression and mania.Differential Diagnosis
- Vitamin B12 deficiency [stuart2006].
Treatment
Treat the phasic depression and mania as indicated. Take care not to overshoot and change the patient from a depressive state to a manic state or vice-versa.Omega-3 oils are believed to help stabilize mood in bipolar patients.
