Overview of Coronary Artery Disease or Ischemic Heart Disease

Coronary Artery disease (CAD), which is also called Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) or Coronary Microvascular Disease, is due to atherosclerosis of the small blood vessels of the heart.

Complimentary and alternative treatments for coronary artery disease that are considered below include:

  • Neurotransmitter Balancing

Etiology of Coronary Artery Disease or Ischemic Heart Disease

Historical graphs (Figures 1 and 2 below) [King2000] show that the well-known rise of DM-2 and heart disease in the United States over the past 50 years parallels the rise in the consumption of high-fructose corn syrup and other sweeteners (Figure 2), and the rise in the consumption of vegetable oils (Figure 1). This historical data do not support the theory that consumption of animal fat including eggs is linked to DM-2 or heart disease.

Neurotransmitter Balancing

Neuro Research [Hinz2015] reports that chronic diseases such as Coronary Artery (Heart) Disease can be benefited by balancing neurotransmitter levels in the body.

Dr. Weyrich has been trained in neurotransmitter balancing protocols, but has not treated Coronary Artery Disease using this technique.

Please see What is Neurotransmitter Balancing? for more information.
