Differential Diagnosis
The differential diagnosis of shoulder pain includes the following:
Treatment
- Acupuncture:
- St-38 (anterior St-40; have patient move shoulder while needle inserted, with stimulation)
- SJ-14 (divit arm abducted)
- LI-15 (divit arm abducted)
- SI-10 (divit arm adducted inferiolateral scapular spine)
- SI-13 (divit arm adducted superiomedial scapular spine)
- UB-17 (T7; move xue)
- Lu-1 (pain in chest, shoulder & back).
- Lu-2 (pain of chest, shoulder, arm; pain of the shoulder with inability to raise arm [PIHMA]).
- Lu-5 (pain of shoulder, upper arm, tennis elbow, hand - relaxes sinews and activates channel [PIHMA]).
