Etiology
Estrogen Dominance, Hypothyroidism, and Iodine Deficiency share many common symptoms [Starr2005, pg 195]:
- Weight gain
- Irregular or heavy periods
- PMS
- Depression
- Migraines
- Blood-clotting problems
- Fibroids
- Ovarian cysts
- Endometriosis
- Breast cancer
Differential Diagnosis
Treatment
- Treat iodine and thyroid deficiencies first.
- In cases of estrogen dominance, consider supplementing with transdermal bioidentical
progesterone cream [Lee; Starr2005, pg 195].
